Shared Echoes I (24th Feb - 7th Mar 2004)
An intercommunal collaborative youth project
The 1st Inter/communal performance collaborative event Shared Echoes I with Joshua Bisset, Edward Svhocker, Alexandra Waierstall and Horst Waierstall. "Shared Echoes" is a program that brought together artists from all communities in Cyprus, especially artists from the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities, to collaborate on a dance/music, visual arts events and bring this forth into two public performances, exhibition and site specific performances. "Shared Echoes" project was done in collaboration with E.M.A.A (European Mediterranean Artists Association) from the Turkish Cypriot community. The aim was to intersect hare and now with artists from the whole of the island toward a peaceful coexistence.
The directors’ theme raised the questions: ‘what is our view of life and of our world, what is the core and the meaning of life - and what are our essentials that we expect from life and what can we do to make them come true? On our “eighth day of creation” we have to build our world according to our aims of personal growth in social interdependence – on this earth, between its continents and peoples, on the whole Cypriot island, between the members of the group…'
