Dance-Gate Dancehouse Lefkosia announced a series of "Meet the Artist" programs starting with the SOLI program that took place:
Thursday and Friday 18 and 19 December 2008

The aim of the SOLI program was to present artists / choreographers / directors who had worked and presented solo dance / movement work and who were interested in sharing with the public their goals and concerns in their art.

In these two evenings the audience had the opportunity not only to see the work of these artists, fragmentary or whole in video and / or live, but also to get to know the most introspective thinking and reflection of the participating artists within the broader interactive context of the documentaries arts in which they work as choreographers-directors-dancers-actors.

The whole presentation program and communication of the work of the participating artists, the two nights of presentations and discussion was coordinated by Angus Balbernie (UK), the special guest of the Dance-Gate, theoretical and art choreographer.

A historic moment, the first time this was happening in Cyprus, in terms of the development of dance and dance art in the context of its modern formalistic search as an interactive documentary art, as well as the contemporary Cypriot creation of solo work, in the more general European / global context.
